There’s something about a week that just piles on, right?
The kind of week where your to-do list multiplies, your kid needs extra hugs (or discipline), the dog throws up on the rug, and suddenly, every post you planned to write or email you meant to send feels like it can wait until next month.
Yeah. That was my week. Along with building, crashing and rebuilding our site while soft launching our Messy Brave Shop! (Can’t believe it’s finally live!!)
Messy. Exhausting. Chaos.
But right in the middle of the chaos, I felt that gentle reminder in my spirit:
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
– 2 Corinthians 12:9
Not in our highlight reel.
Not when we finally “get it all together.”
But in our weakness—that’s where His power shows up. That’s where we see Him move.
What If the Mess Is the Ministry?
So often we think we have to clean up the mess before we can lead, serve, or show up in our business.
But I’ve learned that the mess is the ministry?
What if your vulnerability, your honesty, your behind-the-scenes chaos is the very thing God is using to reach someone else?
Maybe your “not enough,” your “weakness,” is the exact space where someone else finds permission to breathe – to be messy – to be brave.
Real Talk for Brave Entrepreneurs
If you’re a mama trying to build a business in the cracks of nap time and snack duty—His grace is enough.
If you’re a pet pro juggling client calls and shelter work and second-guessing every post—His grace is enough.
If you feel behind, burnt out, or just plain done—He. Is. Enough.
You don’t have to hustle harder to be worthy.
You don’t need a perfect launch plan to make an impact.
You just need to keep going with Jesus leading the way.
Keep praying, keeping reading His word.
How to Be Messy Brave:
- Start messy. You’re not behind—you’re becoming.
- Speak up. Someone needs to hear the raw, real version of your story.
- Rest. Not every day has to be a breakthrough. Some are just for surviving. That’s brave, too.
Biblical Encouragement:
“But he said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.’” – 2 Corinthians 12:9
“My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” – Psalm 73:26
You’re not doing this alone, friend. You were never meant to.
Also – not only did the dog throw up on the rug, he ate my marinating steak and peed on my latest DIY project.
With you in the mess,
Courtney
