Messy. Brave. Covered in grace.

This isn’t a story of having it all together…

It’s a story of meeting God in the wreckage. Courtney Cash knows what it means to hit rock bottom. From addiction and jail to abusive love and postpartum survival, Messy Brave is a raw, faith-filled memoir of a woman who walked through the fire-sometimes crawling-and found something sacred in the ashes.

With honesty, grace, and grit, Courtney invites you into the unfiltered reality of rebuilding after brokenness. These pages aren’t polished-they’re real. They’re for the woman still shaking, still doubting, still hoping there’s a purpose for the pain.

What you'll Feel on These Pages

Every chapter is designed to sit beside you, not above you—speaking life into the very places that still ache.

  • Unfiltered honesty—no highlight-reel faith
  • Scripture & guided prompts that turn pain into prayer
  • Hope for the “still-shaking” heart that wonders if God can use her mess
  • A reminder that you don’t have to be perfect to bloom—only brave enough to stay rooted

Meet Courtney

Single-mom · Storyteller · Grace Collector

Courtney Cash is a single mom, recovered addict, and unapologetic champion of second chances. Once marked by shame, addiction, and an abusive marriage, she discovered that the God she’d heard about in Sunday school was still in the business of pulling people out of wreckage. Today she raises her daughter on a steady diet of prayers and dance-parties, while running Messy Brave Media, a faith-driven marketing studio that helps mission-minded brands find their voice and their audience.

When she isn’t coaching clients or recording the Messy Brave Podcast, you’ll catch her volunteering at the shelter—because saying “no” to a wide-grinned bully-breed pup is simply not in her DNA—or sipping extra-strong coffee while outlining her next book. Courtney tells raw stories, on pages and from stages, so women who are still shaking in shame can hear one clear truth: you don’t have to be perfect to bloom—only brave enough to stay rooted.

What readers are saying...

I could not put this book down. I read it while sitting on my porch this afternoon. I could feel the hurt, sadness, fear and hope in every word. This is a reminder that Jesus is merciful, gracious, loving and forgiving. What a moving testimony.

Debbie

“This book reminds me that God is near the broken hearted. And His grace is never far. Messy Brave moved parts of my faith I didn’t know needed moving. The testimony was real and the redemption story gave me chills.”

Ashley F.

I devoured Messy Brave in one sitting, tears and high-lighter flying. Courtney doesn’t hand out tidy clichés—she hands you a flashlight for the dark rooms of your own story and walks in first. If you’re a woman who loves Jesus but still feels the sting of wreckage, this book will feel like a lifeline wrapped in Scripture.”
